Awake in Seattle… Part 1 of 2

It wasn’t the quickest start to a Sunday by any means – a crisp stroll from the Holiday Inn into downtown took us to the Public Markets on the waterfront – we found a really nice pastry/French Cafe and had the vital coffee fix for the morning!

It was pretty busy on the waterfront – apparently it is one of the main tourist attractions – the markets that is.. but yeah, all the cafes and eateries were chocka block!….

If you didn’t know – Seattle is the HOME of Starbucks… and the very first Starbucks is situated right on the street by the markets..! here she is… Consumerism at its best.. well, you know what i mean..

Doin a good trade of course…

Right – into some market pics.. the fishmongers really put on a show.. yelling all the time, and talking crap to the audiences… its just like a live show!..quite the drawcard…. they toss whole fish and crabs around 5 m and generally get some good laughs and scares! Damn, some of the seafood looked good…

So after regrouping, we decided to stroll up town to check out the Seattle Public Library – a funky, modernism-style building – worthy of a look around Andrew reckoned… wewalked a few blocks to get there, so i snapped a few pics enroute.

we all agreed, this building is damn ugly..

I liked this building – i think it is the Seattle Tower.. almost Chicago architecture.. got to get myself there eh..

So – we made it to the Library.. What a building… pretty amazing inside – uber planning… a really nice feel – zen out.

So Speechless… Seb had to take a seat!.. well, nah, it was closed the previous day, but hey worth a shot!
